Gaetano Carmine Rossi, 77, of Woodbridge passed away peacefully on January 20, 2022 at Yale New Haven Hospital. Born in Melizzano, Italy on January 9, 1945, he was the son of the late Lorenzo and Giuseppina (Cermola) Rossi. Gaetano is survived by his beloved wife Maria Adele (Gaudio) Rossi who was born in Amorosi, Italy. The two immigrated to the U.S. where they met and eventually married on Sept 5, 1966. He was a loving father of two children and grandchild­ren. He was a Maintenanc­e Crew Manager working over 20 years for First New Haven National Bank on 1 Church Street in New Haven until its acquisitio­n by Bank of America. He then went on to provide his many talents with the Bank of New Haven headquarte­red in Orange, CT. Gaetano was truly a jack of all trades and consummate handy man who could handle any project which was demonstrat­ed by the house he built on Northrop Road in Woodbridge. He was always willing to use his many talents and skills to lend a hand to his friends and family when needed. Gaetano is also survived by his children Josephine Rossi Bucci and her husband Andy Bucci, Lorenzo Rossi and his wife Roberta (D’Oliveira), his grandchild­ren Andrew Bucci and Nicolette Bucci. Dear sister-in-law and brother-in-law Clem and Jack Mordecai. His cherished nieces and nephews; Angelina Morales and her husband Richard, Pietro Desiato and his wife Cheryl, Carmen Desiato, Paolo Desiato and his wife Laurie, Martin Mezza and his wife Tina and Dina (Mezza) Menchetti and her husband John. Michael Mordecai and his wife Angela, John Joseph and Elisabeth Mordecai. Gaetano was predecease­d by his loving sister Lucia Desiato and brother-in-law Aldo Desiato, and loving sister Maria Mezza.

His funeral procession will leave the PORTO FUNERAL HOME, 830 Jones Hill Rd., West Haven, MONDAY morning at 10:15. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in the Our Lady of the Assumption Church at 11:00. Entombment will follow in the Garden Mausoleum of St. Lawrence Cemetery.
