He is also survived by his mother Julia and sisters Deborah (Allan), Cynthia (Everett), their children, and many extended cousins and other family.

He is preceded in death by his father and namesake Oswald, Sr.

Oz graduated with the class of 1968 from Branford High School and attended Hartford State Technical College studying Engineering. He served in the United States Army as a Sergeant within the 2nd Armored Division “Hell On Wheels” during the Vietnam Era. Years later, Oz served with the Connecticut’s Governor’s 2nd Company Foot Guard.

He worked for AT&T (formerly SBC, formerly SNET) where he worked his way through the company after 28 years of dedicated service to retire as a telephone lineman. He was a proud member of the CWA Local 1298.

Oz will be remembered as an avid storyteller, a military fiction reader, a roulette player, a never ending realist, a sarcastic jokester, a

Jeep lover and a connoisseur of all things chocolate. He loved nothing more than gas station coffee, scratch and lotto tickets, fishing on a sunny day and above all, his family. Oz was a proud father and G-Pa to his children and grandsons.

Oz was a renowned teller of dad jokes, euphemisms, and has fortunately shared his dry sense of humor with both of his children and at least two grandsons.

In the coming months, Oz will be laid to rest within his family plot in Maine.

Tremendous thanks go to the truly exceptional nurses at Branford Hospice, who provided a peaceful and compassionate environment during his transition from this life to the next.
