Fermin A. Aupi, beloved husband, father, brother, co-worker and friend passed away in Yale New Haven Hospital on January 26, 2022. He was sixty-nine years old.

Fermin was born on September 21, 1952 in Valencia, Spain. He was the son of the late Jacinto and Fermina Aupi. He graduated from the University of Valencia with a BS in Economics in 1976 and moved to the US in 1978. He retired from Anthem Blue Cross/Blue Shield in 2019 after thirty-five years of service. He was kind and generous to all who knew him. He could appear to be a serious, distinguished executive one minute and then surprise everyone with his off-color sense of humor the next. He was an avid tennis and soccer fan who loved Real Madrid CF. He also loved to travel and explore beautiful beaches. He was devoted to his family and friends and loved spending time with them.

He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Sandra Nute-Aupi. Sandy and Fermin met while they both were studying at the University of Valencia in 1976. Together, they raised two children Lauren Aupi of Branford, CT and Daniel Aupi of Queens, NY. He also leaves a niece, Natalia Aupi Korbusieski of Wolcott, CT and many other relatives in Spain and across the US.

Relatives and friends are invited to a visitation Wednesday, February 2 from 4-7 p.m. at the W.S. Clancy Memorial Funeral Home, 244 North Main Street, Branford, CT.
