In Hamden, January 27, 2022 Raymond P. Hottin, 95, of Hamden. Beloved husband of Rena Balestracc­i Hottin. Loving father of Lisa Hottin of Hamden and Linda Hottin of Cambridge, MA, brother of Norman (Patricia) Hottin of Milford and Leonard (Sheila) Hottin of East Haven. Also survived by his cherished grandchild­ren Caitlin and Caroline Buggy and her fiancé Christophe­r Shrieve. He was predecease­d by a brother Victor Hottin. Mr. Hottin was born in Palmer, MA on December 14, 1926, son of the late Melville and Celia Cadieux Hottin. Ray worked at Eastern Elevator for over 45 years, retiring as Vice President and President of Elevator Service. He proudly served his country during WWII with the US Navy. Ray enjoyed 30 years of retirement and spent his time flyfishing locally on the Mill and the Housatonic Rivers and making annual summer trips to Montana to fish the Bighorn River, the Madison River, the Ruby River, and other sacred spots for flyfishing enthusiast­s. He spent his winters at his beloved Sea Club in Hillsboro Beach, FL where he served on the Building Committee and took great pride in coordinati­ng Sunday Afternoon Golf. Ray also enjoyed shuttling his granddaugh­ters to their various sporting events and coaching them on their performanc­e on the ride home. Funeral from Sisk Brothers Funeral Home, 3105 Whitney Ave., Hamden, Tuesday at 10:30 a.m., Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church. Burial in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
