Alex escaped Communist Hungary when he was barely fifteen years old. After several attempts he was able to cross the border between Hungary and Yugoslavia. Although his father arranged the escape Alex was alone. He spent a year in a refugee camp in Yugoslavia before coming to the United States. He lived with his maternal grandfather in Hamden Connecticut.

Alex made a life for himself raising his two boys. Alex was employed at Armstrong Rubber until the factory relocated to California. Alex then went to work for Pathmark Supermarket where he remained employed until Pathmark closed their Connecticut Stores.

In January of 1995 Alex began work at Arden House. It was during this employment he met Lee. Alex and Lee led an active, happy and full life on Cosey Beach. They were married in July of 1997.

Throughout their courtship and marriage Alex and Lee enjoyed traveling. They traveled throughout the United States as well as visiting Budapest, London and Wales.

They moved to Arizona in 2004 in order to be closer to their California family.

Sadly, after a long battle with Lewy Body Dementia with Parkinson’s features Alex left us on January 9th, 2022. The world is a sadder place without him.

Because of current travel restrictions details regarding a Memorial Service location and time has yet to be determined.
