Jill Spanier

Jill Spanier, age 79, entered into eternal rest on January 26, 2022 at Bishop Wicke Health Center in Shelton. Jill was born in Brooklyn, New York on April 25, 1942, daughter of the late Seymour R. and Ethel E. Isaacs Spanier. She was a graduate of Jamaica High School in Queens, New York and later Quinnipiac University in 1967. Jill then went on to attain her sixth-year degree in education. A resident of Ansonia since 1959, Jill was employed for the Ansonia Board of Education as a teacher and then moved onto Assistant Principal at Mead School and later Principal at Ansonia Middle School until her retirement in 1999. Jill was a softball coach in Ansonia as well as the director of Adult Education in Ansonia for many years. She was a member of the Woman’s College Club and a former member of the Board of Directors for Julia Day Nursery School. Jill was also an avid dog lover. Jill leaves to cherish her memory, a sister, Attorney Jackale N. Williams of Milford, special cousins, Gaye Harfenist and Claudia Montecalvo and dear friend Salvatore DiGiorgi. She was predeceased by her brotherin-law, Thomas J. Williams. A graveside funeral service will be held on Wednesday February 2, 2022, at 1:00 pm in Pine Grove Cemetery 15 Church Street in Ansonia, with Rabbi Sanford Davis officiating. There will be no public calling hours. Masks are required at the cemetery. The SPINELLI-RICCIUTI/ BEDNAR-OSIECKI FUNERAL HOME, 62 Beaver Street in Ansonia has been privileged with the arrangements.
