Margaret (Bowman) Berube, wife of Ronald R. Berube of Guilford, passed away peacefully at Apple Rehab in Guilford on July 20, 2022. Born in Hartford, CT on October 19, 1931 she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Bridget (Foley) Bowman. Margaret was a graduate of Buckley High School and Hartford Hospital Nursing School. Upon graduation, she worked as a Pediatric Nurse in the Hartford area.

On August 3, 1957 she married Ron and began her family in Manchester, CT before moving to Guilford in 1966. Margaret leaves behind her 5 beautiful children that she was so proud of: Dr. R. Robert Berube (Bethanie) of Manchester, ME, Ellen Cocco (Rob) of Sterling, VA, Lisa McMinn (William) of Madison, CT, Paula Conway (Michael) of Bethel, CT, and Michael Berube (Kristin) of Guilford, CT. She also leaves 9 grandchild­ren: Krystina Angelini (Nick), Kayla Bowman (David), Trevor and Spencer McMinn, Bridget, Casey and Lindsey Conway, Gabrielle and Faith Berube along with 4 great-grandchild­ren whom she loved and adored immensely. She was affectiona­tely known as Nana which she was so proud of.

In addition to her parents, Margaret was predecease­d by her sister Mary Cowles; her brother Joseph Bowman; her father and mother-inlaw, Napoleon and Jeanette Berube and her sister and brother-in-law Patricia and Roger Cowles.

Margaret enjoyed the simpler things in life like word searches, manicures, reading, going to lunch, shopping, her weekly hair appointmen­ts and especially her UConn Huskies basketball games. She enjoyed traveling and went to Europe many times. While raising her children, she spent many years camping in their trailer named Charlotte and always making her famous BBQ chicken. Children were her passion and she was loved immensely by all her “kids” at Guilford Center for Children where she worked later in life.

The family would like to express their gratitude to Beacon Hospice, especially Kayla for her love and care of Margaret as well as Jenny, Jackie and all the other amazing caring givers of Margaret from Apple Rehab.

Friends are invited to calling hours on Friday, July 29 from 10:00-11:30am at Guilford Funeral Home, 115 Church Street, Guilford. Followed immediatel­y with a prayer service at 11:30am at Guilford Funeral Home. Burial will be held privately.
