Jacqueline “Jackie” Lanzieri passed away on June 18, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born in Derby, CT on August 22, 1962, to Jack and Joan Lanzieri. Jackie attended Ansonia schools and worked for many years as a companion homemaker. She was a caring soul with a generous heart which was evident in the number of people who called her friend. Her door was always open to anyone who needed a meal, a place to stay, or just wanted to chat. Jackie enjoyed trips to the casino and spending quality time with her family and friends, especially sleepovers with her granddaugh­ter Aviana. Jackie is survived by her partner Robert Kinnebrew; her mother Joan Lanzieri; daughter Nicole LanzieriVi­dro (Sadi); the light of her life, her beloved granddaugh­ter Aviana Vidro; brother Mark (Patricia) Lanzieri; nephews Salvatore Lanzieri (Keir), and Joseph Lanzieri; nieces Alicia Lanzieri (Nina) and Kristin Smith- Wilson (Steven); Aunt Rosemarie Ellsworth ( Jack); cousin Jack Ellsworth; great-nephew Michael Lanzieri and William Collins; great-niece Kasey Collins; and many second and third cousins. Her extended family, Cheryl Smith (Denise), caretaker Donna Brown-McCarroll, special nieces Ty’jhana Lee and Z’haniah Johnson, William Spencer, who was like a son to her, and her many friends, too many to mention. She was predecease­d by her father Jack Lanzieri; paternal grandparen­ts Joseph and Dorothy Lanzieri; maternal grandparen­ts Rocco and Rose Barbieri; and Uncles Michael Lanzieri and Louis Barbieri. As per her wishes, Jackie’s body has been donated to the Anatomical Gift Program at Quinnipiac University for medical education and research.
