Corbin Alonzo Pressey Jr. passed away on Saturday, August 6, 2022, at the age of 92, at home. Corbin was the loving husband of Mary B. Pressey and devoted father to Corbin A. Pressey III (Ingrid) of New Haven, Lisa M. Pressey of New Haven, and Jacquelyn E. Pressey of Brooklyn, NY. Born January 2, 1930, he was the son of the late Mildred E. and Corbin A. Pressey Sr. Corbin and his older sister Richetta M. Watkins were born and raised in New Haven, Connecticu­t. After graduating from high school, Corbin enlisted in the United States Army. Two years into his service he was deployed to Korea to support South Korea from invasion. By God’s grace, he made it home safely, later receiving medals of honor in recognitio­n of his dedicated service to his country. Following his military term, Corbin enjoyed a long and fruitful career working for United Technologi­es, Pratt & Whitney division, where he worked for 42 years until retirement.

Corbin loved to spend time with his family and to build-up and empower the next generation. He was a member and Past Master of Widow’s Son Lodge #1 of New Haven. Corbin was a devoted husband, father, grandfathe­r, and friend to all who knew him. In addition to his wife, children, and sister, Corbin is survived by 2 grandchild­ren, Jayden and Kayla Pressey; brother-inlaw Joe Berry Sr. (Lorine) of Greenville, SC; sisterin-law Sue Hallums ( John) of Greenville, SC; nieces Michelle Watkins, Lawaynia Hallums Billups, and Dayan Shannon; nephews Michael and Gregory Watkins, and Joe Berry Jr.; along with great-nieces and nephews.

Though Corbin will be dearly missed, we rejoice in the knowledge that he is now in the presence of the Lord, basking in the love, peace, and glory of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

A celebratio­n of life will be held on Tues., August 16, 2022 at 11 A.M at Cornerston­e Christian Center, 349 Wheelers Farm Rd., Milford, CT 06461. Viewing will be held 10 A.M until time of service.
