Reno L. Gabianelli, age 94, entered into eternal rest on August 30, 2022, at Shady Knoll Health Care Center in Seymour. He was the beloved husband of fifty-four years to the late Elizabeth R. Juliano Gabianelli. Reno was born in Ansonia on May 25, 1928, son of the late Reno L. and Josephine Aylo Gabianelli Sr. A lifelong resident of Ansonia, Reno was employed as a processor for the U.S. Postal Service. He worked on U.S. railway post office trains from New York City to the New England States and later at the processing center in New Haven. A proud veteran, he honorably served his country in the United States Merchant Marines during World War II and in the United States Army, 7th cavalry regiment in the post war occupation of Japan. Reno served as president of the New Haven Local of the American Postal Workers Union, AFL-CIO, from 1970 to 1976. He was a member and past president of the Central Subalpi Club in Ansonia and a member of the Ansonia and Shelton senior centers. Reno enjoyed duck pin and tenpin bowling for many years and participat­ed in several leagues and tournament­s. Reno leaves to cherish his memory, a daughter, Carol A. Gabianelli of Ansonia; brothers, Alfred Gabianelli (Carol) of The Villages, FL and Robert Gabianelli of West Haven; the Marshall family of Beacon Falls, who he considered family; along with several nieces and nephews. He was predecease­d by his daughter, Diane Gabianelli; his brother, Daniel Gabianelli; and his sister, Rose Litke. Relatives and friends are invited to greet the family and pay their respects on Tuesday, September 6, 2022, from 5:00-7:00 pm in the chapel of SPINELLI-RICCIUTI/BEDNAR-OSIECKI FUNERAL HOME, 62 Beaver Street in Ansonia. On Wednesday, his funeral will begin at 8:45 am from the funeral home, followed by his Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 am at Holy Rosary Church in Ansonia.
