-

Ruth Kelsey Warner, 95, of Branford, passed away on August 31, 2022 at Branford Hills Health Care Center. Ruth was born in Stony Creek, Branford, CT on July 24, 1927 to the late Howard and Mildred Kelsey. She was predeceased by her husband of 59 years, Kenneth B. Warner, Jr.; as well as her sister Beatrice and brother Vernon. Ruth was a long-time member of Trinity Episcopal Church in Branford and a member of the Church of Christ in Stony Creek.

Ruth was proud to share the story of her engagement where after three dates, and in six weeks, she was married to the love of her life, Ken. Ken had three children (3, 5 & 7 yrs. old) from a previous marriage, so she became an instant mom; soon after she had two more children. She took on motherhood with true grace, cooked the best meals, and there was always a homemade pie for dessert.

Ruth worked for Triple A for over 20 years. But what was most important to her was raising a family and being a homemaker. Her wonderful sense of humor, generous heart and warmth for everyone she met will never be forgotten. Ruth and Ken created a beautiful family of five children, 13 grandchildren, and 15 greatgrandchildren. Every single one of them visited with her during her final days. It was a testament to the wonderful person she was.

Ruth was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star for 56 years and was given the honor of being chosen as Worthy Grand Matron of CT 1978-79. She was also Worthy Grand Ruth of the General Chapter 1994

Triennium; and also General Grand Chapter Ambassador to Japan 2003 Triennium.

Ruth and Ken were fortunate enough to travel the country as well as the world to many locations; they also spent many years camping at Travelers Woods campground in Bernardston, MA. The tradition continues every Labor Day with all of their 30 (and counting) family members attending every year.

Ruth leaves behind her children, Kenneth III (Rebecca), James (Ania), Robert ( Janice), Ruth (Steve), and Vernon ( Janice). She also leaves behind her 13 grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren. Her family would like to thank the Branford Hills Health Care Center for the outstanding care of Mom, as well as Nela who gave her great care at home.

A memorial service will be held at Trinity Episcopal Church on-the-green, 1109 Main Street, Branford, Saturday, September 10th at 1:00 PM, with burial to follow in Branford Center Cemetery. For directions and online memorial, see www. wsclancy.com.
