Irene Euzzine Capezzone
August 19, 1930 - October 3, 2022
Irene Euzzine Capezzone, 92, of Branford passed away October 3, 2022 in Yale New Haven Hospital. Daughter of the late Vincent and Caroline Martone Euzzine, she was a native and lifelong Branford resident. Irene cherished her early years living on Hopson Avenue and created lifelong, cherished friendships. She was creative and artistic, and met and married her beloved husband, a well known artist in his own right, Hugo Capezzone in 1952. They had 3 children, Leslie (husband, Charlie Vitelli), Carol Capezzone, and Hugh “Chipper” (wife, AnnMarie) Capezzone and grandchildren, Sarah (Ryan) Sullivan, Austin Vitelli, Jessica, Sydney, and Bryan Capezzone. All loved her dearly, and enjoyed every moment with her, cooking, baking and sharing stories. She was an incredible cook, and shared her creations with everyone. Though she lost her husband at an early age, she made every day count, and adored her newest greatgranddaughters, Leah Irene, and Ella Grace Sullivan. Extremely funny, she loved to laugh; all wanted to be around her. She also leaves many nephews and nieces, including one of her dearest, and most generous, Tama Ardolino Coleman. “Rene” is now with her wonderful sisters, Alice (Bernie) Strickland, Helen (Eddie) Ardolino, Josephine (Tony) Lombardo, Ida ( John) Tonas, Nancy (Edward) Wall; her beloved husband Hugo; and her precious son Hugh “Chipper” Capezzone. Services and burial are private. Arrangements are in care of the Porto Funeral Home, 234 Foxon Rd. (Rte. 80), East Haven.
