Five players scored rushing touchdowns led by Hunter Cobb who ran for 182 yards and two touchdowns and Connor Degenhardt threw for 166 yards and four touchdowns to lead the New Haven footall team to a 67-13 non-conference win over Post in West Have on Saturday.

The Chargers (5-1) took a 21-7 lead after the first quarter and scored 39 unanswered points in the second and third quarters to cruise to the victory.

Also chipping in for the Chargers were Christophe­r Ais who ran for 118 yards and a touchdown and Dev Holmes caught four passes for 69 yards and two touchdowns.

Sacred Heart 40, Stonehill 27: At Fairfield, Marquez McCray threw for 405 yards and a touchdown and was one of four Sacred Heart players to run for a touchdown as the Pioneers raced past Stonehill.

The Pioneers (4-2, 2-0 Northeast Conference) led 20-7 at the half before McCray scored on a 3-yard run to cap an 83-yard drive and then he connected with LJ Hackett for a 75-yard shocker.

The long pass came one play after the Skyhawks (3-1, 1-1) scored. Ashur Carraha was 18 of 28 for 221 yards and three touchdowns for Stonehill.

McCray was 21 of 30 and Malik Grant led the rushing offense with 104 yards as the defending conference champions won their 13th straight home game.

Sacred Heart finished with 594 yards and Stonehill had 402.

SCSU 37, Franklin Pierce 20: Tylon Papallo returned a punt 82 yards for a touchdown and the Owls rolled to their first win of the season.

Papallo added a 49-yards touchdown catch for SCSU (1-6), while quarterbac­k Marc Reali threw for 141 yards and a touchdown and rushed for 65 yards and a score.

Franklin Pierce fell to 1-6.

Trinity 27, Middlebury 21: At Middlebury, Vermont, Colin McCabe scored on a 3-yard touchdown run with 1:08 remaining to lift the Bantams to a win.

William Kirby had a game-high 98 yards rushing for Trinity (5-0), while McCabe finished with a pair of scores. Quarterbac­k Spencer Fetter tossed a pair of touchdowns, connecting with Devante Reid and Thomas Walsh on the scores.

Cole Kennon threw for 386 yards, three touchdowns and an intercepti­on for Middlebury (4-1).

Catholic 24, Coast Guard 17: At New London, Broock Desta had eight catches for 108 yards and a touchdown, but the Bears fell to 2-5 on the season.

Kevin Licciardi and Nico Casares each had rushing touchdowns for Catholic (4-3).
