Degenhardt, UNH steamroll SCSU
Quarterback Conor Degenhardt threw for three touchdowns and ran for two more as New Haven rolled to a 54-14 Northeast-10 Conference win over Southern Connecticut State on Saturday at Jess Dow Field in New Haven.
Degenhardt finished with 184 yards passing and 45 yards rushing for the Chargers (8-2, 6-1 NE-10). Dev Holmes finished with 150 yards on three receptions, including touchdown receptions of 65 yards and 50 yards.
Christopher Ais opened the scoring with a 59-yard touchdown run. Ais finished with 191 yards on 25 carries and also added a 3-yard touchdown reception.
For SCSU (3-8, 2-5 NE-10), Jevon Jones tallied 104 yards receiving on four catches, including a 52-yard touchdown reception.
Sacred Heart 38, Wagner 28: At New York, Rob McCoy passed for 200 yards and ran for 105, Malik Grant added 165 yards on the ground, and Sacred Heart defeated Wagner.
The combination of Grant and McCoy helped the Pioneers churn out 350 yards rushing.
Still, Wagner was within 24-21 in the fourth quarter after Calvin Coby picked up a Sacred Heart fumble and returned it 93 yards for a touchdown.
Sacred Heart (5-5, 3-3 Northeast Conference) responded with a pair of touchdowns for a 38-21 lead. Grant raced up the middle for a 64-yard TD run and then added a short TD after Terron Mallory returned an interception to the Wagner 1.
Wagner's Nick Kargman was 13-of-31 passing for 215 yards with two touchdowns and an interception. Back up QB Quincy Guy-Barnes also threw a touchdown pass. Naiem Simmons caught six passes for 134 yards with one touchdown for the Seahawks (1-9, 1-5).
Trinity 31, Wesleyan 14: At Hartford, the Bantams shut out the Cardinals in the second to seal their ninth straight win and an unbeaten regular season.
Quarterback Spencer Fetter threw for three touchdowns for Trinity (9-0), two of which went to receiver Devante Reid. Tyler DiNapoli added 111 yards on the ground on 20 carries.
For Wesleyan (6-3), Logan Tomlinson had 10 catches for 112 yards recieving and a touchdown.
Merchant Marine 41, Coast Guard 33: At Kings Point, N.Y., Jeremaih Wang and Matthew Savard each eclipsed 100 yards rushing and scored two touchodowns apiece to lead Merchant Marine (6-3).
Matt Ross finished with 72 yards on six catches, including a pair of touchdowns for Coast Guard (3-7);
