Rosemary A. Conte, of Branford passed away December 22, 2022 in Branford Hills Healthcare Center. She was born in New Haven on April 1, 1935 to the late Andrew and Louise Criscuolo Buonocore. Wife of the late Anthony Conte, mother of Carrie Conte and Christie A. Bondos. She was predecease­d by her brothers Joseph and Andrew Buonocore and her beloved cousin Marie Gaffney. Rosemary’s life started two months premature as a surprise arrival on April 1st. Despite her early arrival, she excelled at grammar school at St. Michael’s and skipping both the third and seventh grades. She went on to graduate at St. Mary’s High School at the age of 16 and was selected to work at Pratt and Whitney as an administra­tive assistant for a top executive. Rosemary was a very meticulous and ever so quick with any kind of numbers or task that she took on. She was a very fashionabl­e and stylish woman. She met her husband at 19 years old and they married the following year. They lived in Northford and welcomed two daughters before moving to Branford. While being a homemaker Rosemary was known for her extraordin­ary cooking, baking, and gardening skills. Summers were special spent down at the Double Beach Club with family and friends cheering on her girls at swim meets. She returned to work at Capt. Nicks and the Beach Head Restaurant where she made many friends who were co-workers and customers. She retired from Omni Home Health Services in 2000 and spent the next years being Nana to Nicole and Britney the lights of her life. She was also a very active traveler who loved music, plays, and went on numerous bus trips, cruises, and trips around the country and a special religious trip to Medjugorje. She was very religious with a strong faith in Jesus. She had a soft spot for children and all those suffering with affliction­s from illness and disabiliti­es.

Visiting hours will be held Tuesday morning from 9:3010:30 in the Iovanne Funeral Home, Inc.11 Wooster Place in New Haven. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Michael Church at 11:00. Burial will follow in St. Lawrence Cemetery. Those in attendance are respectful­ly asked to wear a mask.
