Anthony D. Luzzi Sr., 70, of East Haven passed away December 23, 2022 at CT Hospice in Branford. He was born May 25, 1952 in New Haven to the late John L Sr. and Anne (Criscuolo) Luzzi. Anthony is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Rosemary (Ward) Luzzi and three devoted children, Laurie Gagné (Roger) of East Haven, Anthony Luzzi Jr. (Samantha) of Hamden and Michael Luzzi Sr. (Amy) of Windsor along with six grandchildren he adored, Daniel Gagné, William Gagné, Lucy Luzzi, Isabella Luzzi, Emily Luzzi and Michael Luzzi Jr. He is also survived by his siblings, Marie Benway, Joseph Luzzi (Ilene) and Barbara Pepe and an aunt, Barbara Spinello (Lawrence) and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his brother, John Luzzi Jr.

Tony, as he was known by many was a loyal Rangers fan, avid photographer and enjoyed taking his grandsons to the range. He absolutely raved to everyone he met about spending time with his grandchildren and all the trips to Disney and beyond he did with his wife. During the summer you would find him outside tending his vegetable gardens. He loved his job as treasurer of his church and made sure that everyone followed the procedures to the letter. He enjoyed being a volunteer fireman with Company 1 driving Engine 2 and up until the day he passed, had a scanner right next to his chair listening to the calls being dispatched.

After being diagnosed with Renal Failure, Tony devoted himself into being the best compliant patient US Renal Care ever saw. He loved his Dr.’s and Nurses, especially Patricia Nicols and Cristen Brown, Dr. Hochkiss, Dr. Reynolds and Dr. Delacruz. His family wishes to thank them all for loving him as if he was their own family. Their care and devotion not only to him but to our mother was very evident in all their calls, texts and hugs!

Family will receive friends from 4 to 7 P.M. on Monday, December 26, 2022 at the Clancy-Palumbo Funeral Home (Clancy Funeral Home), 43 Kirkham Ave., East Haven. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, December 27 at 10 A.M. in The United Methodist Church, 811 East Main Street, Branford with burial to follow at All Saints Cemetery, North Haven.
