Alma M. Esposito

-

Alma M. Esposito, 97, of Hamden, CT, loving wife of the late Joseph Esposito, passed away peacefully on December 16, 2022. Born in New Haven on September 28, 1925, a daughter of the late Rafael and Antoinetta Navaretta Affinito of Italian descent, Alma spent her early days enjoying Savin Rock Amusement, shopping in downtown New Haven and playing the clarinet in the Commerical High School band. Her sense of fashion followed her throughout life, always dressing for the day reminding those around her of the glamour of the big band era, which she so loved. Alma briefly worked in medical records at Saint Raphael Hospital before starting her family, to which she dedicated her life. Alma loved to keep a clean house, and found joy in wedge heels, dogs, and keeping updated with family and friends.

Alma is survived by her daughter Sharon Dlesk (Richard) and son Dennis Esposito (Debra), of whom she was most proud. She is also survived by nieces, more like second daughters, Lisa Neun and Judy Thibault in addition to children, grandchildren and greatgrandchildren. Besides her beloved husband Joseph, she was predeceased by her brother Louis Affinito and sister Valia Fusco, both of whom she remained close with through their lives.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on January 4, 2023 at 11 a.m. in St. Anthony Church, 70 Washington Ave., New Haven. Please meet directly at church. Entombment will follow in St. Lawrence Mausoleum. For online condolences, please see her obituary at www.beecherandbennett.com.
