Raymond Francis McKenna
Raymond Francis McKenna, age 85, of Westbrook, died peacefully on December 18th at Middlesex Hospital. He was predeceased by his loving wife Paula of 48 years. He was born in New Haven on January 27th, 1937. He was the son of the late Alice McLaughlin and Daniel McKenna; stepson to John “Red” Coleman. Also predeceased by his sister Theresa Benedetto and brother Daniel McKenna.
Ray was the owner of Coleman’s Service Station for many years. He was also an avid golfer and longtime member of The Clinton Country Club where he celebrated a rare hole in one. He also enjoyed reading and his daily walks to Grove Beach. Ray always took great pride in keeping his pool beautiful for all to enjoy, especially his wife and his many grandchildren.
He is survived by his loving daughters Kelly Morrissey and husband Michael, Judy Miller, Susan Sacco and husband Stephen and Erin Tomporowski and husband Michael. And his 9 grandchildren: Christian, William, Alexis, Quinn, Kevin, Natalie,
Jami, Casey and Ryan. And 3 great-grandchildren: Tacary, Paisley and Zakai.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Saybrook Point Pavilion in Old Saybrook on Sunday, March 5th from 1:30-3:30.
