Carmen “Babe” Carpentieri
Carmen “Babe” Carpentieri, 92, of Branford passed away peacefully in his home, surrounded by his family on January 4, 2023. He was the husband of the late Vera Turcio Carpentieri. Babe was born in New Haven, November 5, 1930 a son of the late Joseph C. and Julia Severino Carpentieri and served his country proudly as an Airforce mechanic during the Korean War. He was the service manager at Ekblade Oldsmobile for more than 40 years before retiring. Devout in his faith, he attended Mass daily at St. Mary’s Church. Babe loved his family immensely and was an inspiration to so many in their faith and careers. He treated everyone like family. He was an avid car lover who had an aptitude and passion for mechanics and machinery. He is the father of three loving and devoted daughters; Linda (Thomas) Massey, Carol (George) Cornachini and Patricia (Stephen) Robinson. Brother of Joseph Carpentieri, MD. Grandfather of Christopher, Megan, Alexa, Blake, Juliana and Joseph. He is also survived by 4 great-granddaughters. He was predeceased by his sister-in-law Mary “Dee” Carpentieri.
Visiting hours will be Monday January 9, 2023, from 4-7pm in the Iovanne Funeral Home, Inc. 11 Wooster Pl. New Haven. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday at 10am in St. Mary Church, St. John Bosco Parish, 731 Main Street Branford CT. Entombment with military honors will follow in All Saints Mausoleum. At the request of the family, kindly wear a mask for all services.
