Louise Zwack

-

Louise Zwack, age 95, passed away on Thursday, December 22, 2022 at The Roses in Guilford. She was the widow of Charles Zwack.

Louise was born on March 17, 1927 to the late Agostino Amato and Rose Serritella Amato in New York, New York, a city she loved. After marrying Charles, Louise moved to West Haven where she resided until several years ago. She was a longtime and valued employee of the Yale Alumni Fund until her retirement.

She was predeceased by her brothers, Thomas and Ralph Amato.

Louise loved life - she was always upbeat with a positive attitude. She travelled extensively, was an avid reader and was clever with her crafts. Staff at Yale always looked forward to her homemade Christmas gingerbread houses every year that were raffled off for charity. She was a good friend and as a result is leaving many people who will miss her tremendously.

Louise is survived by her niece Alison Riggin (Ralph) and their children, Adriane and Pearce of Pennsylvania, her nephew Gary Amato (Gayle) and their sons, Patrick and Victor of Colorado as well as nephews, Leonard Zwack (Gabriella) of

Branford and Robert Zwack ( Janet) of Oxford. She also leaves many close friends - too many to individually name - those in New York,

West Haven, Yale, and at The Roses but in particular, Rosa Edwards of New Haven, Olivia and Ellen Paffumi and Ted and Jean Mester of Guilford.

The family would like to thank Dorothy Wall and her staff at The Roses for their compassion and dedication to Louise during her last days as well as to the Hospice nurses and the aides who took such good care of her.

Per Louise’s wishes, there will be no services and burial will be private.

In memory of Louise, we ask that you please consider a donation to the American Cancer Society, https:// www.cancer.org/about-us/ local/connecticut.htm
