Quinnipiac scores victory over Rider

LAWRENCEVI­LLE, N.J. — Tyrese Williams scored 16 points and Quinnipiac defeated Rider 72-63 on Friday night.

Williams added five rebounds for the Bobcats (11-5, 2-3 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference). Dezi Jones added 13 points and Matt Balanc scored nine.

Allen Powell paced the Broncs (6-8, 3-2) with 19 points and three steals. Mervin James totaled 16 points, while Adetokunbo Bakare scored nine.

Niagara 77, Fairfield 69 (OT):

At Fairfield, Aaron Gray recorded 30 points, including four in overtime, as Niagara beat Fairfield on Friday.

Gray added five rebounds for the Purple Eagles (9-5). Noah Thomasson scored 21 points while shooting 10 for 25 (0 for 5 from 3-point range) and 1 of 3 from the free throw line, and added six rebounds. Joe Kasperzyk shot 3 for 8 (1 for 3 from 3-point range) and 6 of 6 from the free throw line to finish with 13 points, while adding three steals.

Supreme Cook led the Stags (6-9) in scoring, finishing with 17 points and 17 rebounds. Caleb Fields added 17 points for Fairfield. Allan Jeanne-Rose also had nine points and two blocks.

MEN’S HOCKEY Quinnipiac 3, Dartmouth 0:

At Hamden, Ethan de Jong scored a pair of goals and Yaniv Perets made 14 saves as the Bobcats won their sixth straight on Friday.

CJ McGee also scored for Quinnipiac, which improved to 16-1-3 (11-0-0 ECAC). Dartmouth fell to 2-12-1 (1-6-1).

WOMEN’S HOCKEY

Quinnipiac 3, Harvard 1: At Boston, Logan Angers made 20 saves as the Bobcats beat the Crimson in the Frozen Fenway series at Fenway Park on Friday.

Olivia Mobley, Nina Steigauf and Madison Chantler all scored for Quinnipiac (19-3-0, 9-1-0 ECAC), which was playing in the Frozen Fenway series for the first time in program history.

Shannon Hollands scored the lone goal for Harvard (4-9-2, 3-6-2).
