Frances T. Ochenkowski

-

Frances Tomaszewski Ochenkowski, 95, of The Landing in North Haven, formerly of Wallingford and Hamden, passed away peacefully January 10, 2023, at Yale New Haven Hospital. She was the devoted wife of 52 years to the late John S. Ochenkowski. Frances was born in New Haven on May 12, 1927, a daughter of the late Vincent and Bernice Bujalkowski Tomaszewski. She had been employed as a customer service specialist with SNET for 25 years before retiring and was a life-time member of St. Stanislaus Church. Frances enjoyed traveling with John, especially to Stowe and Woodstock Vermont, Newport Rhode Island, and many points south and west of Connecticut. She enjoyed collecting art depicting garden flowers and beautiful scenic views. She indulged in and found joy in creating with a brush. Frances loved music and dancing and gathering with her beloved family and close friends, with “fun” always at the forefront. We shall miss her generosity of spirit, her light, and her faith. She is the sister of Philip Wrzosek and the late Genevieve Farmerson, Elizabeth Zwirko, Estelle Melilli, Anna Znajda and Stanley Tomaszewski.

Fran is survived by John’s sons Deacon Paul (Mary Lynne) Ochenkowski and Richard (Rhonda) Ochenkowski, their children Daria and Drew Ochenkowski and several nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours will be Monday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 in the Lupinski Funeral Home, Inc. 821 State Street, New Haven. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11am in St. Stanislaus Church. Burial will follow in Saint Mary’s Cemetery, Hamden. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Stanislaus Church, 9 Eld Street, New Haven, CT 06511, or Connecticut Hospice, 100 Double Beach Road, Branford, CT 06405.
