Hilda C. Grady, daughter of Valentin and Mary Vincenz originally of TrunZignau, Switzerland, died peacefully in her sleep at the age of 92 in her home in Northford, Connecticut on March 8, 2023. Born in New York City on February 3, 1931, Hilda graduated from St. Vincent’s School of Nursing and was proud of her career as a registered nurse. On October 29, 1955, she married William E. Grady, also of New York, whom she loved dearly, and who predeceased her in 2017. Hilda is survived by their five children and their spouses: Mary Keefe of Branford, CT; Bill Grady of Northbrook, IL and his wife Marita Janzen; Michael Grady of Charlotte, N.C. and his wife Marcia Lopez-Ibanez; Peggy-Eliot Grady of Peaks Island, ME; and Eileen Vermilye of Bethesda, MD, and her husband Andrew Vermilye. Hilda was predeceased by her son-in-law, Sean Keefe, husband of Mary. She was very proud of her fourteen grandchildren Padraic (and his wife Angela), Grady, Shannon (and her husband Joe), Billy, Christopher (and his wife Marli), Kylie, Hannah, Choka, Maral, Hulan, Booway, Riker, Greer, and Grady. She is also survived by two great-grandchildren,

Grady Miller and Grace Keefe. Hilda leaves her beloved twin sister, Irma Annunziato of Garden City, NY, and her husband Anthony Annunziato; she was predeceased by her parents. Hilda loved flowers, particularly tulips and daffodils, and enjoyed gardening, reading, and Swiss chocolate. She had a special spot in her heart for all the dogs in her life and, in her later years, for Rory McIlroy. She will be remembered for an appreciation of the impact of small gestures, including the importance of a thoughtful, hand written note. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
