Owner of All American Heating Air Conditioning INC., husband, father, PopPop, son, brother and friend.

Jay Clifford Valimont, 60, passed away stoically in the embrace of his devoted family, on March 8, 2023, at Yale New Haven Hospital, after bravely battling an extended illness. He was the beloved husband of Lori Gyuro Valimont, for forty-two years.

Jay was born in Southington, Connecticut, son of Clifford L. and Nancy E. (Sorrell) Valimont. He moved to Wolcott at the age of two and spent his childhood attending Wolcott Schools. His incredible competitive spirit allowed him to excel at any sport he put a hand to. His days of playing Youth Hockey in Cheshire were some of his most treasured ones.

He continued to participate in softball, bowling, and deck hockey leagues into his adulthood, until his passion for golf took hold. He enjoyed playing with his brothers, good friends and most recently, introduced the game to two of his grandchildren. He had the honor of making three holes-inone, which he downplayed as “just luck”!

Along with golf, Jay had a passion for boating and deep-sea fishing. He enjoyed many years, sharing that passion with his children, grandchildren, and friends. Giving up boating when his health began to decline, he continued to fish by chartering trips with his friends and family, both here and in Venice, Florida.

Jay’s competitive personality, mixed with a tenacious work ethic, helped him establish All American Heating and Air Conditioning, Inc., in 1987. Along with his friend and business partner, Ken Dwyer, he created a company with a solid reputation, that offered sales and service of heating and air conditioning and later plumbing to Connecticut and surrounding states. He was a generous and caring employer, who never forgot where he came from, and appreciated each and every member of his “All-American Family”. He always said, “No one works for me, they work with me.” His proudest moment was when his son, daughter, son-in-law, and nephews all came to join the “All-American Family”, creating a family legacy.

Family was the joy and happiness of life for Jay; besides his devoted wife, left to cherish his memory are his three children, Jay Valimont Jr. and his wife Mikki, Mylesia Mascolo and her husband Joseph, Jenifer Wood and her husband Nicholas. The absolute gems of his existence, his six grandchildren, Emily and Joseph Mascolo, Jay III (LJ) and Rylie Valimont, Nicholas, and John- Paul Jay Wood. A seventh grandchild will make their debut in August.

In addition to his parents, Jay is survived by his sister, Annette Perugini (David) of Palm Harbor, FL, brothers, Gary Valimont (Kim), of Wolcott and Carl Valimont (Nancy), of Fox Pointe, WI, his father-in-Law, Istvan Gyuro of Trinity FL, sisterin-law Victoria Brewster (DJ), of Wolcott, and brother-in-law, Steven Gyuro, of Thomaston, CT. He will be incredibly missed by his many nieces and nephews. Jay was predeceased by his mother-in-law, Vivien B. Gyuro.

The family would like to thank Dr. George Antonopoulos, good friend, Dr. Kumar Kalapatapu, of New York Presbyterian, Dr. Anthony Mascia, and lastly, the medical staff on the Cardiac ICU 5-1 at Yale New Haven Hospital, for their incredible, compassionate care of our beloved Kahuna.
