A SUMMER FILLED WITH MUSICAL EXPLORATION

The Danbury Music Centre proudly presents its Summer Bands, Summer Strings, and Chamber Music Intensive programs. For musicians of all levels, our programs offer a blend of learning, collaboration, STEAM-inspired projects, and performance. Led by experienced music educators and musicians, sessions promise a summer of musical growth, making them an ideal choice for those seeking a musical summer!

Summer Bands, July 8-19

Daily sessions for wind, brass, and percussion instrumentalists. Offers participants the opportunity to play staples from the concert band and jazz band repertoire, as well as the opportunity to learn a new instrument and participate in STEAM-inspired projects and activities. The program concludes with a concert. Register by April 31 for the Early Bird Discount.

Summer Strings, July 22-Aug. 2

Daily sessions for violin, viola, cello, and upright bass. Sessions offer specialized instruction in technique, musicality, and ensemble playing in a supportive and engaging environment for string players. Learn a new instrument or refine your skills over the summer. The program concludes with a concert. Register by April 31 for the Early Bird Discount.

Chamber Music Intensive, July 22-26

Our program offers an opportunity for string players (violin, viola, cello, and bass) ages 15 and up to play chamber music in a non-competitive setting. The daily sessions will consist of coaching from our world-class faculty, opportunities for the groups to rehearse on their own, side-by-side string repertoire reading, and informal masterclasses.
