Elaine Morrisey McDaniel Hoffstadt, 73, wife of the late Kevin Hoffstadt, sadly passed away Sunday, February 25, 2024, in Wake Forest, NC.

She was born October 27, 1950. Elaine was the daughter of the late Richard H. and Lorraine June Morrisey of Orange, CT. Elaine grew up in both Milford and Orange, CT. When she lived in Milford, she was near Fort Trumbull Beach, where she’d walk daily on hot summer days, climbing down the rock wall to the beach. She graduated from Amity Sr. High School, Woodbridge, CT. She went on and continued her studies in Political Science at Mitchell College in New London, CT, then graduated from the University of Washington.

She moved back to Milford, CT, where she started a short career as a realtor, representi­ng Gerry Patton at Clarke & Patton, Realtors. After that, Elaine pursued a new career path working for the Internal Revenue Service, which led her to accept an opportunit­y from the Social Security Department, where she retired.

Elaine’s greatest love was her beloved “Beatles”, especially, Sir Paul. She swore she’d marry him someday. That never happened of course. Elaine loved music and played the piano. She also had a great artistic talent for drawing sketches.

Elaine is survived by her son, Joseph (Kim) McDaniel, her beloved five grandchild­ren, Nevaeh and Alexa McDaniel and Melody Simon, all of Wake Forest, NC, Brianna Cameron of Wake Forest, NC, and Dillon Cameron of Clearfield, Utah. She is also survived by her sister, Gail Morrisey Benedetto (Robert) of Milford, her niece, Lisa Kotos ( Jeffrey) of Milford, and two nephews, Randy and Ryan Benedetto of Milford, and one grandnephe­w, Beau Kotos, two grandniece­s, Kellyanne and Caroline Kotos. Also, survived by her sister-in-law, Karen (Dennis) Stephens of Bethany, CT, and two stepsons, Tyson and Ryan Hoffstadt. Elaine was predecease­d by her daughter, Rachael McDaniel Cameron, formerly of Milford, CT; her brother, Richard (Richey) T. Morrisey of Milford, CT; and her husband, Kevin Hoffstadt.
