On March 1, 2024, Adelaide (Addie) Wilhelmina Jacobs, 93, of Cheshire, passed away peacefully. Wife of the late Alan P. Jacobs. Loving mother of Mary Jacobs (Elaine Johnston) of New York, NY, Laurence Jacobs (Kim Smith) of Atlanta, GA and Alan Jacobs (Colleen) of Holderness, NH. Also survived by her cherished grandchild­ren, Alexis Desloge (Peter), Colin Jacobs ( Jennifer), Maddy Johnston; great-grandchild­ren, William and Leo Desloge and Wyatt Jacobs; and many nieces and nephews. Predecease­d by sisters, Olive Etzel and Laurel Hernandez. Addie was born in Brooklyn, NY in 1930, daughter of the late Helena (née Sniezek) and Laurence Fleck. Addie fulfilled a lifelong dream by graduating with her Quinnipiac College nursing degree in 1975. She then worked as a Registered Nurse for over 20 years at the West Haven

Connecticu­t VA Hospital. The culminatio­n of her nursing career was her work with Vietnam Era Vets suffering from PTSD, where her caring personalit­y made her an effective and loving caregiver. Addie was known for her radiant smile, her selflessne­ss and concern for others; she always put the needs of family and friends in front of her own. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 11th, at Elim Park, 150 Cook Hill Rd., Cheshire, CT, at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, contributi­ons can be made to Columbus House, 586 Ella T.
