WHITNEY’S MAID MAN
Report: Her coke dealer scrubbed room
A SHADOWY FIGURE who supplied cocaine to Whitney Houston also removed evidence of the drug before authorities arrived at her death suite, a report has claimed.
The pop icon used cocaine “immediately prior” to her collapse in a hotel bathtub, coroner officials said. But investigators previously said they found nothing “alarming” beyond prescription bottles in her Beverly Hilton room.
Tmz.com, citing an unnamed source, said the person who furnished the illegal drug scrubbed away any traces.
“We know the levels (in her system) indicate it was an acute use, a recent use,” Chief Coroner Investigator Craig Harvey told the Daily News friday.
He said the cocaine combined with heart disease likely caused a “cardiac event” that led to Houston’s accidental tub drowning.
“It could have been a blood clot. It could have been a spasm,” he told The News, adding that heart attack was another possibility. “She obviously wasn’t able to push herself out of the water.”
Houston’s full autopsy report — due in two weeks— could shed more light on exactly what happened, officials said.
Houston’s recent romantic interest, Willie (Ray J) Norwood, issued a forceful legal statement Friday denying a claim he was Houston’s supplier.
His response came after Houston’s former sister-in-law Leolah Brown told CNN that Ray J was the star’s “runner boy.”
“She falsely claimed that Ray J was at the hotel and contributed to Whitney Houston’s death,” the statement read.
