“I think the acquisition of Tebow is an attempt to light a fire under Sanchez. He hasn’t taken the role of starting quarterback seriously, and it’ll be a make-or-break season for Sanchez.”

SOPHIE LUO, 20, Manhattan

“I think that the Jets will go with Tebow. Publicity-wise it’s a great move. It’ll be a point of pride for New York if he does well. It’s tough for anyone to play in N.Y., especially a quarterback, but Tebow’s shown that he can handle the spotlight.”

JIMMY LYONS, 40, the Bronx

“I think that Tim Tebow will be the starter next season. They will use him over Sanchez, but I don’t agree with it. It took Eli four years to win a Super Bowl, so they really should give Sanchez more time to prove himself.”

AMANDA MCCONNELL, 27, Manhattan

“I think bringing in Tebow will affect Sanchez. He has to get his game together and prove he’s the No. 1 starter. It will be interesting to see if they use Tebow for the wildcat position. . . . It can’t hurt to have him.”

ANDREW SINGH, 27, Copiague, L.I.

“Sanchez is a better quarterback. The whole thing is just a typical Jets publicity stunt. Tim Tebow is a great athlete, but he is not a good quarterback. This is a N.Y. Giants town, so the Jets don’t really matter.”

VINCEZA SANTORO, 65, Manhattan

“I think that the whole thing is great. Bring on Tebow. He’s a cutie and a hottie! He brings an excitement to the Jets that’s lacking now. We need that in New York. We’ve got Lin with the Knicks. . . It’s time for the Jets to step up.”
