Laptops stolen from beep’s campaign HQ
TWO LAPTOPS were stolen during a break-in at Manhattan Borough President Scott Stringer’s campaign office over the weekend, police said Monday.
The computers, a Mac and a HewlettPackard, contained important information, including data pertaining to donors to Stringer’s 2013 mayoral campaign, NBC reported, citing law enforcement sources.
The front entrance to Stringer’s space at the high-rise office building on Worth St. near W. Broadway in Tribeca was tampered with, a police source told the Daily News. Other computers and valuables inside the office of the mayoral hopeful were left untouched.
A staff member who noticed the missing electronics alerted police on Monday. Police had not made an arrest as of late Monday night. Stringer’s staff did not immediately return requests for comment.
