THE SHOE-LOVING ex-publicist for Marla Maples confessed it drives him crazy when his former client sets foot in Manhattan.

“I have no problem with Marla except for the fact that New York is my town,” said former Maples mouthpiece Chuck Jones in a rambling interview with prosecutors after his May 7 arrest.

“She lives in L.A.,” Jones declared during the 90-minute videotaped Q&A. “Her presence just rekindles things. If she does an interview, it’s like she’s rubbing it in my face.”

Jones, 69, was grabbed by cops after sending off a series of profane and perverse emails to the former wife of billionaire developer Donald Trump. Their contentious relationship goes back nearly two decades, when Jones was accused of breaking into the Georgia-born blond’s Manhattan apartment to steal lingerie — and 70 pairs of footwear.

Foot fetishist Jones later admitted putting more than his feet into her heels, and d wound up behind bars for harassing Maples in 1999.

Jones said his angry emails to Maples s were therapeutic.

“It helps me to get it out of my system,” he says. “It’s just venting ... I don’t care if f she sees it. ...It helps me cope with it.”

But Maples called the cops after at least t a half-dozen nasty emails from Jones s popped up in her inbox beginning in late e March.

“A piece of s---, homewrecker and all l around dumb-ass I know,” was the subject t line in a March 14 email.

“God is not waiting for you, but Lucifer r will explain and fill in your details,” read a March 8 missive. “Get that stutter fixed, s-- for brains.”

Maples, who hired Jones after coming g to New York to pursue an acting career, has said his crazy behavior began once she started dating Trump.

Jones told prosecutors that Maples thought she had to get pregnant to get Trump to marry her. “And her mother supported her.” But “the whole thing turned out to be a failure,” he rambled on. “She caused the divorce because she was having an affair with one of Trump’s bodyguards.” The couple, who have a daughter, Tiffany, were married from 1993-99. Mom and pop were reunited last week for their daughter’s high school graduation.

Jones did acknowledge visiting Maples’ website, but hemmed and hawed when asked about the emails.

“Have I ever emailed her? To say I emailed her means to think she might get it,” he said. “Did I ever email thinking she would get it? No.”

Jones, charged with 16 counts of harassment and one count of weapons possession, also insisted he was innocent — of wrongdoings that put him behind bars during the ’90s. “I lost two years of my life for something I didn’t do,” he claimed.
