Steph’s pricey affair with chef
THE FORMER lover of ex-Knicks star Stephon Marbury wants the Beijing Ducks point guard to pay up more than a quarter of a million dollars hush money.
Thurayyah Mitchell, 40, the fading hardcourt hero’s former personal chef, signed a 2007 pact not to out their affair in exchange for a whopping $900,000 payoff over five years.
The agreement came the same year that the Knicks fought and lost a $11.6 million sexual harassment lawsuit.
But, according to court papers filed in Manhattan Supreme Court, Marbury stopped making payments in January 2010.
Arbitrator Bonnie Siber Weinstock ruled on Oct. 17 that the baller is still on the hook for the money, records show.
Mitchell, 40, of Columbus, Ohio, testified during the arbitration hearing that she endured 'quid pro quo sexual harassment' for 10 months after Marbury told her that “keeping him happy” was a job requirement.
Marbury admitted they had sex five times, but he insisted it was consensual.
He said he wanted Mitchell to keep quiet about it to avoid embarrassing his wife and children.
His admissions — if made public — also could have hurt the Knicks, which was rocked at that time by a sexual harassment lawsuit against coach Isiah Thomas.
In the arbitration proceeding, Marbury’s lawyers argued that the payments could stop because the corporation sending the checks had folded. But Weinstock said the corporation was no more than a bill paying service for Marbury, so he personally is on the hook.
Weinstock ordered Marbury — whose wife Tash is about to join the reality show “Basketball Wives” — to pay the balance of $267,800, plus $40,384 interest and over $25,000 in arbitration fees.
Neither Mitchell nor Marbury could be reached for comment.
