FORGET THE DOG. Beware of the girl.

A 12-year-old Oklahoma girl p packing g heat and hiding in her bathroom m closet squeezed off a shot and wounded an intruder when she saw the door handle turn.

Kendra St. Clair, who had never fired a gun before, blasted the suspect in the chest. The brave sixth-grader initially called her mom when she heard someone banging on the front door of the house. Glass shat- tered. Her mother told her to get t a .40-caliber Glock handgun and hide.

“I was sitting in the closet really scared, holding the gun, not knowing what was going to happen,” the girl told KTEN-TV. “When he turned the door handle, I shot towards him with my mom’s gun and it hit him in the arm.”

The suspect, Stacey Jones, 32, had been in the house about six minutes. After he was shot, Jones ran off.

He was arrested about a block away and charged with burglary. Kendra’s mother, Debra St. Clair, said tha that she does not leave her childre dren home alone regularly, but ne needs to occasionally because sh she is a single mother of two w with a full-time job.

“She’s staying strong and c confident,” Debra St. Clair said Friday of the drama that unfolded two days earlier.

“She’s handling this much better than I would have.”

Jones was brought to a hospital in Plano, Tex., before being booked at the Bryan County jail on Thursday. His bail was set at $250,000 on Friday. He will next appear in court in December, NewsOK reported.

“I was told by the police that he had been homeless for 10 days and that he might have been looking for food,” the mom said. “I would hate it if I knew he was watching her.” With News Wire
