I am a bartender. Last night I dreamt someone had a glass ball on the bar and it exploded while I was working. Glass shards were stuck in the left side of my face. I looked for someone to help me remove them, but my boss told me to keep working. I remember being in pain, but I had to keep working. What does this mean?

Analysis: Glass is a symbol of transparency and the wish for clarity. A glass ball refers to a crystal ball and future concerns. These future concerns blow up in your face, however, because you are not ready to move on. The left side signifies the past, the shards, an embedded past pain that only you can release. You must work through it!
MYSTERIOUS FIGURE EMERGES FROM A CLOSET
I dreamt I was in my closet looking for something to wear. I saw a sewer drain trickling dirty water so I lowered down a flashlight and saw light radiating from inside. I heard a voice and saw a shadow coming toward me. I got my brother to come see. I grabbed a baseball bat and walked to my closet as an unclothed creature was coming out of the drain. Just before I swung the bat at its head it looked up, and its face was my own face. As my bat made contact, I awoke with a fright. Please interpret this dream.

Analysis: A dream of self-recognition that differs from self-perception is disturbing: the new perception upsets the apple cart of complacency. Being in a closet indicates that something is hidden from view, beyond closed doors, repressed or inhibited during consciousness. The sewer beneath the surface is symbolic of the unconscious. When light radiates from within, it is revelatory — you wish to shine light on what is concealed. You bring your brother in as witness. A hidden part of you wants to emerge, unclothed and exposed. But there is conflict; not yet ready to embrace this shadow part, you smash it instead.
