Slain baby’s kin erupts as susp smirks in court

THE REMORSELESS thug charged with killing 16-month-old Antiq Hennis in his stroller was hustled out of a Brooklyn courtroom Friday after his smug expression triggered a torrent of profanities from the slain baby’s family.

Daquan Wright, 19, swaggered into the courtroom and glanced at the family members filling two rows of the gallery.

Cherina Miller couldn’t restrain her rage.

“You’re f---ing smiling?” Miller cried. “That was my f---ing nephew, you bitch!”

“That’s why you’re going to get f----- in the ass!”

Wright rolled his eyes when state Supreme Court Justice Neil Firetog ordered court officers to re- move the defendant.

Miller was escorted outside by another pair of court officers standing in the gallery.

“He’s smiling because he’s a jerk,” Miller, 31, said outside court.

Wright allegedly handed a .45-caliber gun to accused shooter Daquan Breland, 23, who opened fire, hitting the baby with a bullet meant for his gangbanger father pushing the stroller.

Both Wright and Breland are charged with murder. Breland did not

appear in court Friday.

Defense lawyer John Carney appeared shaken as he huddled with the judge and the prosecutor after the courtroom outburst.

Carney said later he reported to the judge that both he and Wright had previously been the subject of death threats by the victim’s supporters.

“Iwas in the elevator with them and someone said they hoped (Wright) would be released so they could kill him and someone else said, ‘We should kill his lawyer, too,’ ” Carney said. “We were going to overlook it,” Carney said. “I didn’t take it seriously then and I don’t take it serioiusly now, but it was my duty to report it to the judge.”

Little Antiq’s mother Cherise Miller was not present in court. She, too, had cursed out Wright at his last pretrial appearance in September.
