Those ‘white’ lights of B’way

THE GREAT White Way is living up to its monochromatic moniker.

Figures released on Thursday show that 78% of Broadway tickets were bought by Caucasians last year.

And 68% of theatergoers are women, the Broadway League reported. Tourists accounted for 66% of the audiences last year.

But in positive news from a long-term perspective, the average age of a Broadway theatergoer dropped to 42 1/2 from 43 1/2 the previous year. Meanwhile, ticket buyers aged 18-24 amounted to just 14% of the ticketholders.

And attendance by Hispanics rose to 7.6%, up 2 points from two years ago.
