Death-trap truck’s OK, says Parks
THE DEATH-TRAP that Parks Department truck workers are too scared to drive was returned to service the day after the union complained about it — on a supervisor’s order, records show.
“As per assigned supervisor, truck is not out of service,” said the Jan. 3 maintenance log for the 14-yearold green Ford.
It was serviced for “fumes and body damage” on Jan. 2, but put back into rotation with huge holes in the floorboards and no workable seatbelts.
It also went to an off-site garage Nov. 14 for a checkup and got an OK — despite exposed brake and fuel lines under the rusted-out floor.
