Unspeakable

Middle Village: Shame on the New York City Council for electing a speaker who clearly shows how low they set the bar for themselves. The cheering and excitement they exhibited in electing this union hack — who spent the last few years lying and stealing from the public by not reporting her rental income in subsidized housing — was pathetic. It seems the Council insists on awarding this job based on the ethnicity and sex of the candidate, as if that should matter when looking for a competent and qualified leader. Fair warning to the city taxpayers: Get ready to be fleeced by this den of thieves.
