Immig agent admits drug deals

A CORRUPT immigration enforcement agent who dealt drugs on the side has been iced by the feds after pleading guilty in a Manhattan Federal Court Wednesday.

Kordell Nesbitt, a former immigration enforcement officer for Immigration and Customs Enforcement, acknowledged his role in a drug ring that shipped marijuana from the West Coast for sale in the Bronx and tried dealing cocaine as well.

Nesbitt, 26, of the Bronx, pled guilty Wednesday in Manhattan Federal Court to conspiracy to distribute cocaine and marijuana.

He acknowledged his role selling marijuana in the borough and that he arranged to have it shipped by an accomplice in Los Angeles.

Under his plea deal, he’ll get up to five years in prison when he’s sentenced.

He could’ve faced up to 20 years and a $1 million fine.

“Federal agents are supposed to uphold our nation’s laws, not break them,” Manhattan U.S. Attorney Preet Bharara said. “Kordell Nesbitt broke laws that he swore to enforce when he played an integral role in a cocaine and marijuana conspiracy.”

Nesbitt, whose job at the federal agency was to guard immigration detainees both in the U.S. and abroad, was in cahoots with Christopher Sinceno, who FedEx-ed three pounds of marijuana from Los Angeles to alleged accomplice Sherisse Thompson’s Bronx flat, according to the criminal complaint. Nesbitt also tried to buy $10,000 worth of coke from Sinceno, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office.

The disgraced ex-lawman’s position allowed him to carry a gun 24/7 and avoid screening at the airport.

The drug ring was dismantled last summer after the Office of the Inspector General of the Department of Homeland Security launched a probe.

The charges against Nesbitt’s alleged partners in crime, Thompson and Sinceno, are still pending.
