LIGHT UP YOUR LIFE
The family-friendly import from Finland, “Wally Watthead and his Lost
Glow,” brightens New World Stages for a one-night run on Tuesday.
Creator and star Janne Raudaskoski (r.), a clown and magician, plays a desk lamp whose life goes dim. He enlists his buddy, Simon Simcard, a smartphone, to shine again.
Quirky? Sure. But rich in metaphor too, since the quest for enlightenment is universal.
“Clownery is an instrument of humor,” Raudaskoski says. “But it can also be used to examine serious matters.”
New World Stages, 340 W. 50th St. Tickets are $37.50 and up at telecharge.com or (800) 447-7400. Joe Dziemianowicz
