YOU!

but won’t dwell on it

-

I say to people, ‘please move on’ or whatever, it’s not as if it hurts me any less today than it did seven years ago. And dwelling on it isn’t going to make it any better.”

As badly as it ended, however, Glavine says he has never regretted his decision to sign with the Mets.

“I had a blast here,” said Glav ine, who went 2-1 in the 2006 playof fs, including seven shutout innings in Game 1 of the NLCS. “I’ve always said that every player should play at least one year in New York. There’s nothing like playing in this town. Fans are extremely passionate. There’s no place better when you’re going well and there’s no place worse to play if you’re not going well. I’ve seen both ends of that. “It’s a very knowledgeable and passionate fan base. For the most part I think the fans are fair. I had a lot of fun here and made a lot of great friends. I like to think I was a part of tur ning things around here.

“The organization was in a little bit of a downslide before I got here. I came and then Pedro (Martinez) came and (Carlos) Beltran came, and the next thing you know we were in the postseason, and it was fun to be a part of that.”
