‘I was loving,’ pop insists

- BY ERIK BADIA and STEPHEN REX BROWN

IT WASN’T my fault. The father of Myls Dobson, the 4-yearold boy found dead in the bathroom

of a W. 48th St. apartment Wednesday, said he did his job as a parent.

“I was al oving father, ”Okee Wade told the Daily News on Saturday. “That’s all that matters.”

Wade had nothing to say about his decision to turn over the care of his son to Kryzie King, the 27-year-old woman charged with beating the boy.

Court records show Myls was bound, gagged, beaten and burned during the three weeks King was taking care of the boy. He was forced out into the brutal cold wearing only a T-shirt and shorts the day before he was found dead in King’s bathroom. The 37-year-old father, who is locked upon a fraud charge, was visibly angry during the brief interview at the Atlantic County Jail in Mays Landing, N.J.

He said he didn’t know how his son died. And he denied even knowing King, the woman identified by cops as his girlfriend. “I don’t know anyone named Kryzie King,” said an agitated Wade, his braided hair swinging back and forth. But he wanted to make one thing clear about King, a transgendered woman. “They put in the paper that I was dating a transsexual,” he said. “That’s just wrong! I like women. I don’t date men and I don’t date transsexuals.”

Wade was familiar with news accounts of him dating a transgendered woman, but missed the details about the brutality prosecutors say was he a ped upon his son. “I haven’t gotten any information in here. I don’t get the Daily News. All I know is what I’ve heard from other people,” said Wade, dressed in a brigh to range uniform and sitting behind a glass partition.

Wade, who has a rap sheet with atleast 13 arrests, is scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday.

The medical examiner’s office hasn’t determined how Myls died. And a grand jury is expected to consider a murder indictment against King as early as this week.
