A DERANGED patient who cops say beat a 70-year-old Brookdale University Hospital nurse into critical condition fl flipped out when she went to remo move a catheter and oxygen tube in his nose, a police source said Sat Saturday.

Kwincii Jones, 40, inexplicably fea feared that nurse Evelyn Lynch — wh who was two months away from reti retirement — was going to hurt him, the source said.

Jones, whose only other arrest was in 2010 when he was caught driving with a suspended license, was ordered held without bail at his arraignment on attempted murder and assault charges late Saturday.

The criminal complaint says he admitted to cops that he’d pummeled Lynch “until she could not regain consciousness.”

Jones’ lawyer Benjamin Moore said his client is “an innocent man.”

“There’s nothing in his history that suggests he’s even capable of something like this,” he said.

Jones checked into the hospital in East Flatbush, Brooklyn, on Thursday complaining of stomach pains, sources said.

When a fellow nurse checked in on Lynch, she came upon a horrifying scene. Jones had “pushed her to the ground and stomped on her head with his feet,” Assistant District Attorney Jordan Rossman said. But when nurses ordered Jones to stop, authorities said, he did so and went into the bathroom, where hospital security held him until police arrived.

Lynch is now at Kings County Hospital with skull fractures and brain hemorrhaging, officials said.
