Big Sliwa e-rror
CURTISSLIWA, the crimefighter turned local radio host, repeatedly sent copies of secret legal-strategy emails to his ex-wife by mistake last year, attorneys revealed Tuesday.
Lawyers for Sliwa and his girlfriend, Queens Borough President Melinda Katz, angrily charged Mary Sliwa with “intercepting” the private missives and sharing the details with her unethical lawyer.
But Mary’s attorney, Paul Siegert, insisted Sliwa himself made sure his former spouse received copies of every email discussing confidential issues in their bitter child support battle.
“These were sent to her voluntarily — by Curtis Sliwa to my client,” responded Siegert. “She was blind copied. Curtis just happened to forget.”
For years, Mary Sliwa was routinely BCC’d on every email sent to her spouse while she ran the office operations for Curtis’ Guardian Angels.
Sliwa also forgot he’d given Mary Sliwa the password to his voice mails, where she discovered incriminating messages about an affair — including Sliwa and Katz hooking up the night before he wed Mary, Siegert said. The emails and voice mails were made public as Sliwa sought to drastically cut child support payments to their specialneeds son, Anthony.
Mary Sliwa is suing to get back child support paid by Sliwa to Katz for their two sons.
Siegert also disclosed that he had recently called Sliwa’s lawyer, Alton Abramowitz, to suggest his client drop his bid to cut his ex-wife’s child support payments now that he was back on WABC-AM radio and earning $400,000 a year.
