ANALYSIS

- DAVE LITTLE

1 Louie the Brawler uses Lasix for his career debut, hails from the remarkably potent team of Peter Wasiluk-Harry Vega. No Returns shows a steady work tab for initial start. Al’s Jubalee is another legitimate contender, has Antonio Gallardo (26%) aboard.

2 Rahy’s Place is off an aggressive try with $25,000 claimers, ended up third after cutting out a hot opening half, takes big drop in class. Eclipticalswildcat crushed maidens in last and is a big threat to win again, has the top jock around these parts, Ronnie Allen, up. Tenth Legion came back from a 71/ 2- month layoff to finish third, merits respect.

3 Tale of the Dance, Gulfstream regular, debuted here in last and blasted $25,000 claimers who are non-winners of two for new barn, right back against non-winners of three. You’re My Buddy is in the midst of a superb form cycle for the always reliable Tim Ice outfit. Prado Dash, third in last two at Gulf, has back class, the favorite?

4 Starship Ballerina is tough to gauge with 23 of his 29 lifetime starts coming on grass but has plenty of back class and Gallardo rides. Grace by Moonlight has respectable credentials but also a jockey and trainer with bad stats. Brass Rail woke up to be a good third at this level in last.

5 Herecomethehawks, the favorite in last three, evened out late after swinging three wide in last, drops in class, has Allen up and looks extremely solid. Ocean City shows several good grass lines on his card but loses Allen to the top choice. Onetwopunch has been over the track twice with better foes and should be in the mix.

6 Mz Mill slammed $8,000 claimers non-winners of two in last and with Daniel Centeno aboard should take these non-winners of three types directly down the pike. Bluegrass Lucy has been up the track in both Tampa starts but gets some big-time class relief today. Juliebrowneyes was an OK fourth in debut with this kind, can improve off that start and be close.

7 Guam Typhoon has gone off as the favorite in each of his last eight starts on dirt, overnight stakes-caliber veteran hails from Jamie Ness’ (28%) barn and is certain to be a short price. Peppermint Prince does not have the resume of the top choice, but will be under bet in this spot and can upset if the top choice has a bad day. Lawyer Daggett looked good at this level two back, by far has the second-highest lifetime bank account in this field.

8 So Kitten makes debut in soft spot for Graham Motion. Rare has a resume that will undoubtedly lead to him being the favorite. I Will came oh-so-close in his last grass start two back.

9 Learn the Lingo had little trouble beating cheaper in last, was taken by Ness and should keep on rolling. Freebie’s Sister dropped to this level in last and did well for second, hails from highpercentage barn (Jason DeCosta, 27%) and also has hot jock Fernando De La Cruz (also 27%). Dontbe-tellinme drops in class.

10 Thundering Waters ships in sharp from Gulfstream. It Takes Heart shows a win and two close seconds in his last three. Pyrite Personal did not weaken until the final turn when on the lead with better in last, ended up fourth, dangerous.

BEST BET — Guam Typhoon (7th)
