Derek has a ball on birthday
Dthe big 4-0 with a bash in the Meatpacking District surrounded by friends and his on-again model girlfriend, Hannah Davis. The Yankees captain hit Catch Roof around 8:15 p.m. on Thursday with Davis, and a group of friends, , including former team-mate Jorge Posada and his s wife, Laura. We hear the group ordered everything off the menu and stayed until about 10:15 p.m. Jeter (r. with EMM group co-founder Eugene Remm) and Davis were the last to leave, heading out at sometime after 10:30 p.m., and strolling hand in hand over to the nearby Brickwood nightclub. “They didn’t have a car. They were very low-key,” a source says. “They held hands, and Derek stopped for fans, gave autographs and took pictures with people.” The club was packed with friends waiting for the Yanks’ shortstop, who held court at a corner table. Diddy was there with girlfriend Cassie, and Matt Harvey, Tino Martinez, LL Cool J, Michael Strahan and Timbaland enjoyed a performance by Black Rob, who sang “Whoa” for the crowd.
“Derek and Hannah were really into to each other,” says our source. “She stayed close by his side all night. He seems re-ally into her.”
Jeter was presented s with an over-the-top birthday cake, a “movie reel” with photos of Derek through t the years y along side an edible baseball, b created by EMM Group’s executive pas-try chef, Thiago Silva.
Partygoers were w spotted sipping s Maison Perrier-Jouët Champagne and Grey Goose vodka.
“It was a major event. Derek hasn’t had a party like this in over 10 years,” says our source. “It was sweet. It’s his last party as a Yankee, and he just seemed relaxed and happy and like he was really enjoying himself.”
Jeter partied with pals until 2:30, and left in a waiting car with Davis.
“He seemed sober when he walked out,” says our source.
