Worth watching
This fourpart series’ opening episode, “Civil War Sabotage?”, examines the 1865 destruction of the SS Sultana. The Mississippi River steamboat was filled with Union soldiers at the time of its explosion, though the disaster was overshadowed by something that happened a day earlier: the death of John Wilkes Booth.
“To Catch a Trader” probes the wealth of Steven A. Cohen, who went from trading options to establishing himself as a major power in the world of hedge funds. The program also investigates other financial “players.” Securities fraud and conspiracy is the theme of the hour, focusing on business cheats — some of whom have been caught and convicted by the U.S. government.
Reese’s (Jim Caviezel) break from Finch (Michael Emerson) and the Machine proves short-lived as he returns to New York in “Provenance.” It doesn’t take long for his next case to surface, tied to the theft of a Cezanne painting from an exhibit opening. The focus soon shifts, though, from the pursuit of the robber to the rescue of a youngster.
