TV actor eats gal’s pet bunny
AN ACTOR who plays bad guys on TV is accused of being a real-life psycho — cooking and eating his ex-girlfriend’s pet rabbit before threatening to do the same to her, cops said.
Dimitri Diatchenko — whose roles include a Russian gangster on “Sons of Anarchy” — took his rage to the extreme, texting his former lover photos of his sadistic cooking demonstration, prosecutors said.
“Diatchenko skinned the pet, cooked it and ate half of it while sending her step-bystep pictures of what he did,” the Los Angeles County district attor attorney’s office said in a statement.
Cops said the c cold-blooded crime occurred Sunday at the North Hollyw wood, Calif., home Diatchenko still shares with his exgirlfriend, despite t their breakup months ago. The woman, who authorities did not identify, w was not there when her beloved rabbit w was turned into a m meal.
But when she returned, Diatchenko told her he would cook and eat her, too, prosecutors s said.
Prosecutors rev vealed Diatchenko’s twisted act came after his ex told him she didn’t want him as a roommate.
The crime was reminiscent of a scene from the 1987 thriller “Fatal Attraction,” in which Glenn Close’s character boils the pet rabbit of her lover’s daughter.
Diatchenko, 46, was arrested on charges of felony animal cruelty and making a criminal threat. He faces up to four years and eight months in prison if convicted.
After spending 24 hours in jail, the actor was released Monday on $50,000 bail.
Prosecutors said they’ll ask a judge at Diatchenko’s Dec. 30 arraignment to boost his bail to $90,000.
A Twitter account linked to the actor featured a post Thursday, reading, “Not true.”
Twitter user Joe Mason responded, “I would hope not because only a scumbag would do that.”
Diatchenko’s manager, Barry Bookin, did not return a request for comment.
Born in San Francisco, Diatchenko’s filmography spans nearly two decades and includes bit parts in “How I Met Your Mother” and the 2008 movie “Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.” His voice also appears in “Family Guy” and video games such as “Call of Duty” and “Medal of Honor: European Assault.”
