‘Tis the season for gridlock galore! Friday is an official NYC Gridlock Alert Day. All major shopping strips will be busy starting in the afternoon. Fifth Avenue will be especially busy with Rockettes performing 16 shows this weekend. Gridlock Sam advises all readers to leave the car at home and take transit to reduce road congestion, especially as protests continue. Plan ahead: the remaining official NYC Gridlock Alert Days for 2014 are December 17th, 18th, and 19th.

At Barclays Center the Nets play the 76ers 7:30 p.m. Friday. Avoid Atlantic and Flatbush Avenues. The Giants play Washington at MetLife Stadium 1 p.m. Sunday. The

GWB, New Jersey Turnpike, and the Lincoln and Holland tunnels will all get hit with fan traffic.

At the Garden, the Knicks play the Raptors 7:30 p.m. Sunday. Expect slowdowns on Seventh and Eighth Aves. between 31st and 34th Sts.

The Bayonne Bridge will be completely closed in both directions midnight Friday to 8 a.m. Saturday. Use the Goethals as an alternativ­e.

Special alert Friday! The Carrera Antorcha Guadalupan­a Mexico New York Parade will temporaril­y close several roads for short durations as marchers head from the northwest tip of Central Park to Park Ave. and 47th St. The parade starts 7 a.m. and will run to about 1 p.m. affecting the following streets in order:

Douglas Circle (110th St.) and Columbus Circle, 59th St. between Columbus Circle
