THE SINFUL BRONX cop and preacher accused of raping a 16-year-old girl stole the teenager’s virginity — then ditched her once she got too old, devastated family friends revealed.

Police Officer Vladimir Sosa, a pastor who officials say lured the worshipful teen into a sexual relationship, ended his secret tryst with the young girl on her 17th birthday.

“She’s in love with him,” a friend, who wished to remain anonymous, said of the lovelorn teen. “She doesn’t see that what he did is a crime. She doesn’t see that what he did is a sin. She doesn’t understand right now. She’s just a child. She was an innocent virgin.”

Sosa was arraigned on rape, sex abuse and child endangerment charges Tuesday for having sex with the minor last year. He was released on his own recognizance.

He and the victim — 22 years the creep’s junior — had sex at least three times in his apartment at the Bronx River Houses, officials said.

The sordid affair was revealed in February when the teen’s mother found incriminating texts on her daughter’s cell phone from the 46th Police Precinct cop, officials said.

The girl admitted the affair to her mother, but expressed shock that it had come to a sudden end.

“He left her when she celebrated her 17th birthday,” the friend said. “She was a girl who was in love with God. This man took advantage of her mentally, spiritually and physically.”

The victim and her mother were afraid to speak Wednesday, the family friend said. “There is fear because he’s out there,” she said. “I told them, ‘Don’t be afraid because God is with you.’ This is hurting them too much.”

Sosa remained in seclusion Wednesday, refusing to answer the door at a home he shares with his mother.

His neighbor Maria Torres, 42, was stunned to hear about Sosa’s arrest.

“It really is scary because he lives so close,” Torres said. “This is a person I would see every day; that my kids saw every day.

“Every morning he would say, ‘God bless your daughters, they’re beautiful,’ and ‘God’s going to help you’ and things like that,” she said. “Everybody who lives on the floor is shocked. No one could understand how it could be this guy.”

Sosa, a seven-year veteran of the NYPD, is an evangelist affiliated with the Iglesia Metodista Libre El Remanente on E. 180th St. in Tremont.

He met his teenage victim while running a church youth group, officials said.

The church remained closed Wednesday. Attempts to reach another of its pastors were not successful.

Sosa also traveled to other houses of worship and has given sermons in both Baltimore and Allentown, Pa., colleagues said.

“I’ve heard him preach,” said Ismaldo Sosa, 30, who is not related to the cop. “He cares about the souls of people being saved.”

“Based on what I know, I would say the (allegations) are not true,” he said. “I don’t think he would do that . . . but everybody is tempted.”
